BASSETTI and DEXSTR collaborate on several large-scale projects, by jointly offering high-performance research tools for Artificial Intelligence technologies.

Who is Our Partner?

The DEXSTR company was created in 2014 by David PEYRUC and Erwan DAVID, who both have a scientific background, specifically in bioinformatics and life science. Their background in the Pharmaceutical industry helps them better understand the needs of scientists for whom they set up IT solutions such as electronic laboratory notebooks or even “data warehouses” for Research and Development data.

DEXSTR, is a company that publishes and develops the Inquiro software. This software is an “Insight Engine” for the life sciences, which makes it possible to capitalize on scientific knowledge with the “Scientific Knowledge Management System.” With this, the partnership with BASSETTI was apparent because the software published by BASSETTI, TEEXMA® specializes in the management of technical and scientific knowledge. Inquiro's approach is based on the analysis of unstructured data (documents, large volumes of data such as file systems, servers or even massive external data sources or BIG DATA). The main principle of Inquiro is to know its users’ activities as well as the different sources of data, internal or external to the company. It can connect to an electronic laboratory notebook, a LIMS, a file server, or even a GED, for example.

“ We are going to retrieve the documents that are in these different data sources, we will run our Artificial Intelligence algorithms, which will make it possible to detect all that are scientific entities of interest for the client, such as the bacteria strains that we can find in an electronic laboratory notebook, or even in a file server for example. Obviously, these detections are adapted to our client.”

-David Peyruc

Along with the search results offered by Inquiro are added data visualization tools, with graphical representations that make it possible to navigate data.

Projects

In the 3 current projects, Inquiro is integrated as a complementary module to TEEXMA®, to add new capabilities and functionalities around chemistry and more specifically for the search for chemical entities. This module, offered in addition to TEEXMA®, makes it possible to carry out research on molecules, making it possible to identify all the names used for each of the molecules, whether textual or visual. Inquiro and TEEXMA® are closely connected via connectors that allow them to exchange key data essential to enhance information. These 3 current projects are mainly, but not exclusively, chemistry oriented.

“When we talk about Artificial Intelligence, we often talk about Deep Learning, Machine Learning, but our approach is different. We analyze textual data that we call NLP (Natural Language Processing), with a lot of statistical algorithms, which will be able to identify the entities and determine their relevance. ” - David Peyruc

The projects’ objective is to be able to identify what is relevant for clients in order to target the effectiveness of the results. Our algorithms, although already efficient in the standard form, are configured to adapt to user needs. It is in this sense, that scientific practical knowledge brings all its added value.

The collaboration between BASSETTI and DEXSTR is promising. Our partnership will continue to grow and strengthen to offer companies more innovative solutions and meet the needs of the experts.

For example, both companies are already in the process of offering other specialized modules such as advanced DNA sequence research.
