The Origins of the International Worker's Day

The International Workers' Day began in the United States in 1886, when workers across the country demanding an eight-hour per day. These workers was not only demanding for an eight-hour per day, but also more humane labor practices, with a focus on banning child labor, demanding for fairer and safer working conditions, more worker rights, and the idea of having a "weekend" .

Slowly, May 1st became International Workers' Day (Labor Day) in many countries around the world. Although each country has their own story behind their May Day.
